Management Team

FBC Device is headquartered in Aarhus, Denmark with engineering teams located in Germany and France. The management team consists of:

Finn Bjarke Christensen - CEO

Professor Finn Bjarke Christensen is the inventor and CEO of the company. He holds a MD,a PhD and a DMSc within orthopedics.

From his research and clinical work, he saw the potential in developing a new implant concept that fuse one or more joints while maintaining some initial dynamics that optimizes a natural spinal balance.

Before founding FBC Device, he was involved in spinal research for more than 20 years. Through these research activities he has established a significant international network to researchers, doctors and the implant industry. In this regard he is hosting the Euro Spine meeting 2015 in Copenhagen.

For his research Finn has received the prestigious International Society for the Study of the Lumbar Spine, ISSLS Volvo Award for his lumbar spine research in 1997 and again in 2007 for his low back pain research.
 

Peter Lauridsen - Operations, QA

Peter Lauridsen has more than 15 years of experience with financing, patenting, license negotiating and company start-ups before he joined FBC Device.

He started his career as a researcher within molecular science and holds a MSc and PhD in Molecular Biology from Aarhus University, Denmark. However, after nearly 10 years of biotechnological research, he progressed to work as Investment Manager and Invention Consultant for leading technical institutions in Denmark.

As Investment Manager he has raised capital and supported the initial phases of 12 newbiz companies and been board member of approximately 15 companies. As Invention Consultant, he has been helped numerous Danish inventors and supported company formations and license agreements.

In 2010, Peter joined FBC Device, but he has been closely involved in the build-up of the company as the Investment Manager and sparring partner to the founder since the early beginnings of the development of the spinal implant concept.
 

Bruce Robie - Engineering, RA

Bruce Robie joined the FBC Device team in 2010. He is a well-rounded medical device leader who heads up the development of the spinal implant and instruments, managing engineering teams in Germany and France.

Earlier he has worked for major US medtech companies, such as Zimmer Spine and Applied Spine Technologies, Inc where he has led groups that have assessed technology, identified market opportunities, generated innovative ideas, developed both implant and instrument systems, gained regulatory approval, supported market launch of products and generated literature to support the projects.

He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, US. He also holds a Master of Science in Engineering Design from Tufts University, Massachusetts, US.
 

Anita Wollesen - Marketing & Communication Manager

Anita has several years’ marketing experience from the b2b market. Before joining FBC Device, Anita was Marketing Project Manager for the world leader of dynamic light, Martin Professional where she was responsible for the management of the marketing activities.

Anita runs our external communication and assist in the project management . She also takes the lead on our other projects which include online and offline marketing strategy as well as corporate identity development.

Previously, Anita held marketing and communication positions at newbiz and major international companies, such as Terma, Retail Institute Scandinavia and ShipServ Ltd.

Anita has a Master in Communication and Marketing from the Aarhus School of Business, Denmark.
